In 2020, GardenBank began an initiative to sponsor a gardening project for Ajoy kindergarten in Tanzania.


Update #2

October 7th, 2020

“Hello friends and Team, we will start making the gardening project this week, and we have started making a signboard and tomorrow we will paint the Garden Bank society before starting. Then we hire a tractor to cultivate the land, I will take video and photos and make a post and update on our Instagram and Facebook page. The one painting the sign is Mr. Nico, a French volunteer.”

Update #4

During 2021, GardenBank has continuously helped Ajoy kindergarten find funds, including with building a toilet and school supplies. We also provided support by helping with grant referrals.

July 8th, 2022

“Well, we started planting again these few days. We keep planting more this week, the problem is at this time the water pump got problems we tried to fix. It did not work again (it was a solar water pump.)” -Albert, Founder of Ajoy Kindergarten

October 15th, 2022

Below are some volunteers from Victoria who went to help with the kindergarten. Seeing the solar pump issue, the GardenBank board team decided to fund the garden again.

October 22nd, 2022

The board team sent out a total of $435 CAD (726,210.35 TZS) to Tanzania. This fund is mainly for:

- A Solar water pump — $ 150 (it pumps water 120 metres)
- One solar panel $ 75
- Cultivation of land $ 125
- Seeds $ 85 maize and beans

We are excited to hear updates from Ajoy Kindergarten about their work with the new funds!
